The Lord Jesus doesn’t address the uneasy relationship between nations but peace for individuals. There are two kinds of personal peace. Each type entails a gift and a responsibility; what God has done and what we must do in order to know that peace. There is a peace between God and his reconciled child brought about by the death of Jesus and accessed by repentance and faith. There is also personal peace in our heart which is the Gift of the Holy Spirit and is accessed by personal trust and prayer.
